24th March 2020
Dear parent,
Thank you for all the messages of support for the school that have been coming in. I hope that the first few days of our new way of working have been as smooth as possible as a dispersed school. There will inevitably be roll-out issues with such a big system implemented so quickly, and so your patience as we get to grips with how we are now working is much appreciated. However, it has been amazing to see girls engaging, communicating, and most importantly, LEARNING, despite all that is going on. It has been amazing and quite humbling to see.
You will have seen the national advice to STAY AT HOME unless you have an exceptional reason to do so. More can be found on the government site: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.
Free School Meals
If you are eligible for free school meals, and want to have access to them, then please complete the form on the front page of our website by this Thursday for next week so we know what you want and how to help you.
Children of key workers and vulnerable children
The announcement last night of increased measures to restrict movement do not include locking down schools completely. We continue to provide a safe space for our most vulnerable children and the children of key workers. If you want to register for this provision for the next week, please do so by the end of Thursday so we know who to expect. You can do so on the front page of our website. Educational provision is from 10:00 to 14:00, but we can provide a space space for these pupils from 8am to 4pm if needed. Let us know on the form. You will need to go to our website weekly to re-register so we can update our provision as circumstances change.
Getting help with Microsoft Teams
We've updated the way to get help with technical issues with Microsoft Teams. We are STOPPING the email address teams@ and instead STARTING a new online form on our website. Please use this from now on as this will help us get to your problem more quickly. If you want to find out more about how to use Teams, we have a new section on our website with information on called Microsoft Teams. Your daughter is now also able to join her year group team and can do so using the following codes that can be used when clicking on "Join Team" in the app.
School trips
We have sadly had to postpone all school trips until the end of this academic year. Wherever possible we will be looking to move these rather than simply cancel them. Specific information will come out to those involved in the trips.
Year 11 and 13 qualifications
We are starting to hear more about the process of awarding qualifications for years 11 and 13. We will be sending out specific communications to those year groups as we have it.
Message from the Diocese
At 10.15 each day of the week we will be streaming live from the Cathedral a 10 minute praying together session that schools and families at home can join in with. Each week there will be a hymn that we can all join in with together. From next week you will be able to find that on the Cathedral website. I look forward to joining you for our first praying together this Wednesday 25th March, the Feast of the Annunciation at 10.15. The live stream can be accessed at https://www.portsmouthcatholiccathedral.org.uk/live-mass.php
Thanks to all of you for your continued support.
Stay safe and God Bless

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by online service providers in order to (for example) make their websites or services work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, eSchools) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website or service you are using (such as advertising, interactive content and analytics). The third parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website or service in question and also when it visits certain other websites or services.
We use first party and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Services to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” cookies. Other cookies enable us and the third parties we work with to track and target the interests of visitors to our Services, and we refer to these as “advertising” or “analytical” cookies. For example, the embedding of YouTube and Vimeo videos, as added by individual schools, will require “advertising” cookies to be enabled in order to successfully play them. Schools that, for example, opt to track visitor data using Google Analytics will require “analytical” cookies to be enabled in order to do so. These third party cookies are used to tailor content and information that we may send or display to you and otherwise personalise your experience while interacting with our Services and to otherwise improve the functionality of the Services we provide. We also enable schools to employ cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with their use of our Services in order to allow them to track visitors to and interactions with their school website.
eSchools websites may request cookies to be set on your device. We use cookies to let us know when you visit our websites, how you interact with us and to enrich your user experience. The cookies differ depending on the information. You can adapt your cookie preferences, although please note that blocking some types of cookies may impact your experience on our websites and the services we are able to offer. We will not, without your express consent, supply your personal information to any third party for the purpose of their or any other third party's direct marketing.
Our Services allows schools to embed code which may potentially contain cookies. Please note embedded content, if displayed on one of our websites, has been added by the school and not by eSchools. The embedded content added by the school may require additional cookies or tracking technologies to be enabled in order to function.
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. Be aware that cookie preferences are set on a per device basis; therefore you may need to set your preferences on each device you use.
